Carlos Sainz has claimed his second consecutive Formula 1 pole position after an impressive qualifying performance at Monza. The Spanish driver will start alongside George Russell on the front row of the grid for Sunday’s race.
Sainz Outshines Competition
Sainz, driving for Ferrari, delivered a stunning lap time in qualifying, securing his place at the front of the grid. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, also performed well, securing the third spot in the top five.
McLaren and Mercedes in the Mix
Joining Sainz and Leclerc in the top five are McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Norris delivered a solid performance to secure fourth place, while Hamilton showcased his skill to claim the fifth spot.
Verstappen’s Struggles Continue
In contrast, Max Verstappen had a difficult qualifying session. The Red Bull driver was eliminated in Q2, marking another challenging race weekend for the championship contender. However, Verstappen cannot be discounted from the battle for victory in Singapore and is likely to bounce back.
