Opposition from Incumbent Teams
However, resistance against Andretti’s entry comes from the 10 existing teams who express concerns over the potential destabilizing effects of a new entrant. These teams oppose the idea of having to compromise their commercial income by a substantial 10% as a result of accommodating an additional participant.
Williams Team Principal Speaks Up
In response to Andretti’s bid, the team principal of Williams, Vowles, clarifies their stance on the matter. While they are against Andretti’s entry, Williams would welcome the presence of General Motors in Formula 1.
