NASCAR Heads to Iowa Speedway: Full Weekend Schedule, TV Times, and Playoff Bubble Battle

The high-stakes drama of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season is reaching its boiling point as the paddock heads to Iowa Speedway for Round 23. With only four races remaining before the playoffs, the short-track action in Newton, Iowa is set to deliver intense battles both at the front of the field and on the postseason bubble.

The Championship Picture and Playoff Bubble Battle

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin arrives at Iowa firmly in control of the regular-season championship, holding an 84-point cushion over 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick.

However, the real pressure cooker is at the cutline. Team Penske's Austin Cindric currently occupies the final playoff transfer spot in 16th. Cindric holds a fragile 38-point advantage over RFK Racing's Ryan Preece, making every stage point and finishing position critical this weekend.

Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron returns to Iowa as the defending race winner. Despite his past success here, Byron is still searching for his first trip to victory lane in the 2026 season. After part-time driver Corey Heim claimed a surprise victory last time out in Indianapolis, the full-time field is eager to reclaim the spotlight.

Broadcast Shift: NBC and USA Network Take the Wheel

Fans watching from home will notice a change in the broadcast lineup this weekend. The TNT portion of the summer schedule has officially concluded. NBC Sports and USA Network will carry the television coverage for the remaining 14 races of the 2026 Cup Series season.
