Neuville strengthens his lead as Evans encounters issues
Belgian driver Thierry Neuville extended his advantage over Sebastien Ogier in the WRC Greece rally, while Elfyn Evans faced unfortunate circumstances during the race.
In the opening gravel test of the day, Neuville lost his rally lead to Toyota’s Ogier. However, he quickly regrouped and managed to regain the lead with a comfortable 10.9s margin by the end of the Saturday morning loop.
Championship leader Kalle Rovanpera showcased his talent with two outstanding stage wins, placing him just 23.7s behind in third position. This performance greatly improved his chances of victory.
Unfortunately for Evans, who is Rovanpera’s nearest championship rival and teammate, he encountered a series of issues that significantly affected his race. The specific problems he faced were not disclosed in the report.
