Porsche Continues to Dominate in IMSA’s New Hybrid Car Season

The factory Porsche 963 squad has been a force to be reckoned with in the first season for IMSA’s new cars featuring spec hybrid systems. Out of the eight races where GTP cars have been eligible, Porsche has emerged victorious in three races.

Consistent Champions

One of the standout crews this season has been the duo of Nick Tandy and Mathieu Jaminet. They are part of the factory Porsche team and are one of only two crews to have won more than once this year. Porsche’s return to prototype racing has been nothing short of spectacular.

Recent Successes

Tandy and Jaminet have shown their prowess on the track by winning the last two races at Road America and Indianapolis. These victories have solidified Porsche’s dominance and put them in a commanding position in the championship standings.

Unexplored Potential

Despite their success, Tandy and Jaminet believe there is still untapped potential and room for further victories. They acknowledge that there are always “unknowns” in racing, but they are confident in their ability to adapt and overcome any challenges that come their way.

Looking Ahead

The next challenge for Porsche will be the highly anticipated Petit Le Mans IMSA showdown. The team is well aware that there will be stiff competition and a lot of variables to consider, but they remain focused on their goal of securing another victory.
