Rally Central Europe: Neuville Takes Lead as Overshoot Costs Evans
Hyundai Driver Sebastien Neuville in the Lead
The Hyundai driver, Sebastien Neuville, will take a commanding 1.2s lead over M-Sport’s Ott Tanak heading into Friday’s six asphalt stages in the Czech Republic. The Rally Central Europe promises an exciting battle for the top spot in the coming days.
Tanak’s Early Lead Fades Away
Ott Tanak, driving for M-Sport, had initially assumed an early rally lead after winning Thursday’s opening 2.55km super special held around a racecourse in Prague. However, the Estonian driver was unable to hold onto this advantage when the rally shifted to its second super special stage of the day in Klatovy.
The Costly Overshoot for Elfyn Evans
Meanwhile, Elfyn Evans faced a setback in his quest for victory as an overshoot during one of the stages ended up costing him valuable time. This unfortunate incident has pushed him down the standings but with several stages left to go, anything can happen in the Rally Central Europe.
