Race Tracks on the Isle of Man
Motorsport on the Isle of Man is built almost entirely around closed public roads rather than permanent circuits. The 60.7 km Snaefell Mountain Course dominates the calendar, hosting the Isle of Man TT each June and the Manx Grand Prix each August/September, and is one of the most famous motorcycle racing venues in the world. In the island's south, the shorter Billown Circuit near Castletown carries the Pre-TT Classic, national road races and its own signature event, the Southern 100. Away from the road-racing calendar, Jurby Airfield in the north doubles as a permanent short circuit for car and bike track days, sprints and karting, while Andreas Airfield hosts sprint events run by the Andreas Racing Association.
