Sturup Raceway History

Sturup Raceway was built in 1972 as a 700 meter long rally cross track. During the 80’s, the track was extended to 1200 meters. In the 90’s, the track paved and thus became a racing track for cars and motorcycles. When we entered the new millennium, the course was further developed and in 2005 the course got the shape it has today and now measures 2087 meters.

In recent years, the course has been licensed for FIA, FIM and CIK. Several major competitions have been run here, both DTC and STCC.
Several competitions that have been run on Sturup’s technical and demanding track are Pro Superbike 1000, Super Kart, The Nordic Supercar Championship and North European Zone Championship Formula Ford.

Sturup Raceway is a challenging track with many curves, where the driver has to work all the time. Lap after lap. The track has become a favorite for the growing motorsport Drifting and every year the European Drifting Championship is run here.

Today, Sturup Raceway is so much more than racing. Today, the course offers fantastic conferences, large and small. It is also a training center for safe driving and eco-driving.
