Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information RaceTrackWorld.com (“Race Track World”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question about it, email us at info@racetrackworld.com.

The short version

• You can read the whole site without an account, and we have no sign-up, comment or payment forms.
• We use analytics tools to understand which pages are useful and how the site performs.
• Some pages embed hotel maps and videos from other companies, and some reviews contain affiliate links. Those companies may set their own cookies.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

When you browse the site. Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Google Firebase) receives technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the referring page. This is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure and diagnose problems.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to measure how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed, how long people stay, how they scroll and click, the type of device and browser, approximate location (city or country level) and how they found us. These tools use cookies or similar technologies (such as Google’s _ga cookies and Clarity’s _clck and _clsk cookies). Clarity records anonymised page interactions to produce heatmaps and session replays and masks text you type into fields. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site.

When you email us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply and to act on your suggestion or correction, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Weather pages. Our race-day weather pages fetch forecasts from the US National Weather Service on our own servers. Your browser does not contact the weather service and none of your information is sent to it.

Embedded content and affiliate links

Some pages include content served directly by other companies, which may collect information about you, set cookies and track your interaction with the embedded content in line with their own privacy policies:

• Stay22 hotel and accommodation maps on track guides. If you search or book through the map, the booking is made with the accommodation provider.
• YouTube videos on some track pages.
• Amazon and other retailer links in some motorcycle gear reviews. If you click one, the retailer may set a cookie so that a qualifying purchase can be credited to us. We do not receive your name or payment details.

Advertising

RaceTrackWorld.com does not currently show display advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before any advertising appears, including details of the advertising partners and your choices.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work without them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and read how Google and Microsoft handle data in the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

How long we keep information

Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in each analytics tool and then deleted automatically. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your message and for our records.

Where information is processed

Our hosting and analytics providers operate internationally, including in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your own country. These providers apply their own safeguards to such transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the UK, the European Union, Australia or California), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Email info@racetrackworld.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

The site is written for a general motorsport audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
