The South Korean marque, Hyundai, has already made changes to its driver line-up for the 2024 World Rally Championship (WRC) season. Ott Tanak will be re-joining the team alongside Thierry Neuville. However, the plans for the third and potential fourth car are yet to be revealed.
Decision Expected Before Season Finale
Cyril Abiteboul, the former Renault Formula 1 boss, has stated that a decision on the third driver is likely to be made before the season finale in Japan later this month. Abiteboul has been considering Teemu Suninen for the position, who was brought in as a replacement driver for Timo Suninen earlier this year.
Suninen on Hyundai’s Radar
Abiteboul has admitted that Suninen is very much on Hyundai’s radar for a WRC drive in 2024. The discussions between the team and Suninen are ongoing, and the final call on his inclusion in the line-up is expected soon.
Excitement Building for the 2024 Season
The anticipation around Hyundai’s driver line-up for the 2024 WRC season is steadily growing. With the addition of Ott Tanak and the potential inclusion of Teemu Suninen, the team is aiming to strengthen its chances of securing victories and championship glory in the upcoming season.
