Kubica May Test Jota’s Porsche in WEC Rookie Test
Robert Kubica and Jota have expressed their interest in a possible test outing with the British team’s Porsche as they negotiate a deal for the 2024 World Endurance Championship (WEC). While nothing is confirmed yet, Kubica hinted at the possibility by responding with a “maybe” when asked about driving Jota’s 963 during the official WEC test following the series finale at Bahrain International Circuit.
Jota team principal, Sam Hignett, acknowledged the likelihood of Kubica testing the Porsche and said, “It has always been our intention to give talented drivers the opportunity to showcase their skills in our cars.”
If the test arrangement comes to fruition, it will undoubtedly be a significant opportunity for Kubica to demonstrate his capabilities on the WEC stage. Since transitioning from Formula 1 to endurance racing, the Polish driver has experienced notable success, including a podium finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2021.
