Perez penalized after collision with Norris

Sergio Perez had an eventful season finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, finishing second on the road but receiving a five-second penalty that bumped him down to fourth place. The penalty was the result of a collision with Lando Norris on lap 47 of 58 at Yas Marina.

From third to fourth place

Initially, Perez was set for a podium finish in third place. However, Charles Leclerc, driving for Ferrari, made a strategic move by pulling over and allowing Red Bull to secure a 1-2 finish at the line.

The collision between Perez and Norris resulted in a five-second penalty for the Mexican driver. The two cars made contact while battling on the track, leading to the penalty that ultimately affected Perez’s final position.

Leclerc’s decision to let Red Bull claim a 1-2 finish was a strategic move to create a late 5-second gap between Perez and George Russell, securing Red Bull’s advantage.
