Velopark sits on the BR-386 highway in Nova Santa Rita, about 32 km from Porto Alegre, and is Rio Grande do Sul's main national-level racing venue alongside Tarumã. The main circuit is a compact 2.153 km (1.338 miles) with nine corners, and the complex also includes a drag strip and three FIA-compliant kart tracks, including South America's only purpose-built oval kart track, alongside facilities for children's karting and rental karting. Following a December 2025 sale, the venue entered a new management phase for 2026 under engine-electronics manufacturer FuelTech, which took over the main circuit and renamed it the Autódromo FuelTech Velopark, while Techspeed took over management of the kart facilities.

Events and race weekends

Velopark has hosted Stock Car Brasil (Pro Series) across two main spells, from 2010 to 2019 and again from 2022, along with Copa Truck, Fórmula Truck and a long-running programme of national and international karting. Stock Car driver Daniel Serra holds the most race wins at the track, with victories in 2011, 2013 and 2015. For the 2026 season the circuit hosts round 11 of the Stock Car Pro Series, the high-profile "Corrida do Milhão" (Million-Real Race), on 13-15 November, under its new FuelTech-branded ownership.

Getting there and parking

The circuit is roughly 32 km from central Porto Alegre along the BR-386 highway, a drive of well under an hour outside peak traffic. Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport is the nearest major air gateway, and almost all visitors travel to the circuit by road, as there is no rail or dedicated public transit link.

Most visitors base themselves in Porto Alegre, which offers by far the widest choice of hotels, restaurants and flight connections and is under an hour's drive from the circuit. Nova Santa Rita and neighbouring towns along the BR-386 have limited accommodation of their own.

A new circuit for Rio Grande do Sul

Velopark was built in Nova Santa Rita, just outside Porto Alegre, and opened in 2008 as a modern, compact racing complex combining a 2.153 km, nine-corner main circuit with a drag strip and three FIA-compliant kart tracks, including South America's only dedicated oval kart circuit. It quickly became one of the two principal national-level motorsport venues in Rio Grande do Sul, alongside the older Tarumã circuit near Porto Alegre.

Two decades as a Stock Car venue

Stock Car Brasil began racing at Velopark in 2010 and the circuit became a regular calendar fixture through the 2010s, hosting the series continuously until 2019, before returning again from 2022. Daniel Serra emerged as the track's most successful Stock Car driver, winning there in 2011, 2013 and 2015, and the venue also hosted Copa Truck, Fórmula Truck and extensive national and international karting throughout its history.

New ownership and a 2026 relaunch

After 17 years under the ownership of entrepreneurs Felipe Johannpeter and Sofia Costa, Velopark was sold in December 2025, entering a new operating phase for the 2026 season. Engine-electronics manufacturer FuelTech took over management and naming rights for the main circuit, renaming it the Autódromo FuelTech Velopark, while kart-racing specialist Techspeed took over the kart facilities. The relaunched venue retained its place on the national calendar, hosting round 11 of the 2026 Stock Car Pro Series, the high-profile Corrida do Milhão, in November.
