Best Sim Racing Monitor Stands

6 picks · Updated 19 October 2026 · Based on 221 owner posts and reviews

A monitor stand holds your screens at eye level and in the right place relative to your wheel. The two big choices are single or triple screens, and freestanding or mounted to your cockpit. This guide covers six stands from GT Omega, Trak Racer and Next Level Racing that are on sale in the US today.

Four picks are owner-reported. They come from customer reviews on the makers' own product pages: 40 on GT Omega's page, 98 for Trak Racer's triple stand, 54 for its freestanding single and 29 for its cockpit-mounted single. These are verified-buyer reviews, but they sit on the seller's own site and lean positive, so we only count a point when several owners raise it. The two Next Level Racing picks have no reviews on their pages and are spec-checked.

We left out the Playseat TV Stand range because Playseat's site showed prices in euros and we could not confirm US prices.

We can’t test everything, so each pick is labelled with where the evidence comes from. How we research and test. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you (disclosure).

1. Best value freestanding stand (single, triple or quad)

GT Omega Simulator Monitor Stand

$244.95 single, $357.95 triple, $480.95 quad (sale prices)

A freestanding stand on a 160 x 40 aluminium frame that you can buy as a single, triple or quad. Owners mostly call it sturdy and stable, and several say it holds TVs from 43 to 55 inches. They also agree the instructions are weak, especially for adding the side arms, and that mounting monitors takes two people.

What owners report · from 40 owner posts and reviews we read

  • Sturdy and stable, with little flex (most owners)
  • Good value against rival stands (several owners)
  • Holds large screens, including 43 to 55 inch TVs (several owners)
  • Easy to adjust, even with three screens (a few owners)
  • Instructions are unclear, especially for the triple expansion (three owners)
  • Mounting the monitors is a two-person job (two owners)
  • Supplied 200 x 200 mm plates are large for 32 inch monitors, and 100 x 100 mounts may need spacers and longer screws (two owners)
  • One owner reported the middle bar sagging once two side screens were fitted; another received too few fittings (one owner each)

It does a great job, looks great, very stable and with no flex.

Putting it together is easy but mounting a monitor is more a 2 person job to get everything level

2. Best freestanding triple for 32 to 45 inch screens

Trak Racer Freestanding Triple Monitor Stand, 32 to 45 inch

$359

A steel-tube triple stand that stands on the floor beside your cockpit. Owners call it very solid and say it grows into a four-screen setup. They are split on larger monitors: some run three 43 inch screens with no sag, while others with 32 inch screens report sag and want the leg supports. Alignment takes time, and owners often suggest buying adjustable VESA mounts.

What owners report · from 98 owner posts and reviews we read

  • Very solid and sturdy build (most owners)
  • Adjustable, with room to add a fourth screen (several owners)
  • Good value against other brands (a few owners)
  • Side arms sag with heavy 32 inch and larger monitors; some owners add leg supports (several owners)
  • Aligning three screens is fiddly; owners recommend adjustable VESA adapters (several owners)
  • Instructions missing or unclear for some versions, and assembly takes time or two people (several owners)
  • Feet can be short for heavy screens, and one owner with triple 40 inch screens says to attach it to the rig or it might topple (two owners)
  • Mounting plates can block the monitor ports (two owners)

no sag once you get the arms tight - much easier to setup than an aluminum rig.

Even with my 27 inch monitor, it was hard to get it level.

3. Best freestanding single for large screens and motion rigs

Trak Racer Freestanding Single Monitor Stand (up to 80 inch)

$279

A floor stand for one large screen, such as a 49 inch ultrawide or a 55 inch TV. Owners call it sturdy and say it does not shake, which matters on motion rigs. Complaints are about instructions, missing or mismatched parts and VESA hardware that does not fit every monitor.

What owners report · from 54 owner posts and reviews we read

  • Very sturdy and solid, with no wobble (most owners)
  • Stays still on motion or direct drive rigs (several owners)
  • Holds large displays, from 49 inch ultrawides to 55 and 65 inch screens (several owners)
  • Can be expanded to a triple with side arms (several owners)
  • Instructions missing or unclear, or parts that do not match the list (several owners)
  • VESA screws too short or inset mounts need extra hardware or an adapter, for example on some ultrawides (several owners)
  • Some holes and welds are not perfectly aligned (two owners)
  • One owner found it slightly unstable when pushed backwards

Easy setup, added triple arms more than sturdy for them.

Parts don't fit very well together, adjustments are clunky, fine adjustments are very difficult

4. Best cockpit-mounted single for aluminium profile rigs

Trak Racer Cockpit-Mounted Single Monitor Stand

$229

This one bolts to an aluminium profile cockpit rather than standing on the floor. Owners call it rigid and adjustable, and several bought it with a plan to add side arms for a triple. Complaints are minor: monitor mounting hardware that does not fit every screen, and parts missing from a couple of boxes.

What owners report · from 29 owner posts and reviews we read

  • Rigid, sturdy and very adjustable (most owners)
  • Can be expanded from a single to a triple (several owners)
  • Fits a range of profile rigs, including non-Trak Racer ones (a few owners)
  • Monitor VESA hardware may not match, for example the Samsung G9, which needed extra parts (two owners)
  • Some boxes were missing parts such as T-nuts or end caps (two owners)
  • The crossbar is long; one owner cut it down for a single screen (one owner)

with tons of hardware, plenty of adjustments and solid as a rock.

How to choose

Freestanding or cockpit-mounted

A freestanding stand stands on the floor and does not touch the cockpit. GT Omega says this avoids vibration from wheel and pedal inputs, which it says can be noticeable on direct drive. One Trak Racer reviewer said a stand that mounts directly to a TR8 Pro would shake, and chose a freestanding one. That is one owner, and it is a brand claim from GT Omega, not a test.

A cockpit-mounted stand fixes the screens to your rig, so they stay in the same place relative to the seat and wheel. Trak Racer says its cockpit-mounted triple minimises flex compared with freestanding stands, and owners of its cockpit-mounted single call it rigid. The catch is that it only fits aluminium profile rigs.

Single or triple

A single stand suits one large screen, such as a 49 inch ultrawide or a 55 inch TV. Both Trak Racer's freestanding single and the GT Omega stand have upgrade paths to triple, so you can start with one screen.

Triple stands carry the most weight on the side arms. Owners report sag with 32 inch and larger monitors, and some add leg supports. Trak Racer sells a Freestanding Monitor Stand Leg Support Kit at $159. Count your monitor weight before you choose the width, and check the maker's size range: Trak Racer sells separate 22 to 32 inch and 32 to 45 inch triples at the same $359.

VESA, alignment and assembly

Check the VESA pattern first. GT Omega's supplied plates are 200 x 200 mm, and owners say 100 x 100 mounts may need spacers and longer screws. Trak Racer owners report short screws on inset VESA mounts and the Samsung G9 needing extra parts. Next Level Racing lists 75 x 75 mm up to 400 x 800 mm.

Aligning three screens is the slow part. Owners of both brands suggest adjustable VESA mounts. Trak Racer sells a Variable Adjustment VESA Adapter Kit at $109 and GT Omega sells a PRIME Monitor Quick Mount at $134.95. Plan for two people to mount screens, and expect weak instructions, which owners flag for both brands.

Will it fit your rig

Trak Racer lists the tube and extrusion frames each stand fits and says to check dimensions for other rigs. Next Level Racing says its stands work with all its own cockpits and most third-party cockpits depending on width. GT Omega's reviewers used it with a range of rigs, but the page lists no dimensions per variant, so measure your space and allow for the leg span before you order.

Questions buyers ask

Is a freestanding or cockpit-mounted monitor stand better?+

It depends on your rig. GT Omega says freestanding stands avoid wheel and pedal vibration. Cockpit-mounted stands keep screens fixed to the seat but only fit compatible rigs. Trak Racer's cockpit-mounted single only fits aluminium profile cockpits.

Can a single monitor stand be upgraded to triple?+

Yes for GT Omega, which sells Single, Triple and Quad versions, and for Trak Racer, which sells side arms for its single stands. Check which add-ons match your stand.

How heavy a monitor can these hold?+

None of the pages we read list a firm weight limit. Trak Racer lists screen sizes, up to 45 inch on its triple and 80 inch on its single. Owners report sag with 32 inch and larger monitors on triple side arms, so consider leg supports.

What VESA size do I need?+

Most monitors use 100 x 100 mm. GT Omega's plates are 200 x 200 mm, so you may need spacers. Next Level Racing lists 75 x 75 up to 400 x 800 mm. Check your monitor's rear pattern and screw length.

Which stand is cheapest?+

The Next Level Racing Round Tube Freestanding Single is $199. GT Omega's single is $244.95 on sale and Trak Racer's cockpit-mounted single is $229.

Do these stands come with monitors?+

No. They are stands and arms only. Trak Racer sells monitors separately.

Why are Playseat's stands not listed?+

Playseat's site showed euro prices, and we could not confirm US prices and stock.
