Sim Racing FOV Calculator
A correct field of view (FOV) makes the car’s speed and the distance to each corner look the way they would from the driver’s seat, which makes braking points easier to judge. Measure from your eyes to the screen while you sit in your normal driving position, then enter it below.

How to use the numbers
Many PC sims, including Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, ask for a vertical FOV in degrees. iRacing works out its FOV from the screen size and distance you enter in its graphics options. Console racing games generally don’t take a value in degrees, so use their camera or FOV slider by eye.
A correct FOV on a small, distant screen will look very narrow. That’s accurate: it means the screen covers only a small part of your view. Moving the screen closer, or behind the wheel base, widens the correct FOV more than buying a bigger screen does.
How the calculator works
It works out the screen’s width and height from the diagonal and aspect ratio, then the angle the screen covers from your eye. For triple screens it assumes the side screens are angled in so each sits the same distance from your eyes, and adds each screen’s bezels to its width. Curved screens are treated as flat, so treat the result as a starting point.
