Race Tracks in Chile

Chile's motorsport scene is compact and spread thinly along the country's length, with permanent circuits scattered from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia rather than clustered in one region. The modern Autódromo Internacional de Codegua near Rancagua is the closest permanent circuit to Santiago and the country's most capable venue, while the older Autódromo Interlomas anchors racing in the southern Araucanía region and the historic Autódromo Villa Olímpica de Quilpué, open since 1957, serves the Valparaíso area. Further out, the Autódromo Juvenal Jeraldo near La Serena and Coquimbo, the Autódromo Municipal Manfredo Suiter Hertlein near Concepción, and the remote Autódromo Cabo Negro outside Punta Arenas round out the national roster. Two long-serving circuits, Autódromo Las Vizcachas near Santiago and Autódromo Vegas de Quilaco near La Unión, are now dormant, and Santiago's purpose-built Formula E street circuit, used from 2018 to 2020, has since been dismantled. Chile's biggest motorsport draw is off the permanent circuits entirely: Rally Mobil, the national rally championship, and the FIA World Rally Championship's Rally Chile Biobío round, held on closed public roads in the Biobío region since 2019.
